Rocky Mountains Tour

Enjoy the beautiful Canadian Rocky Mountains!

This 10 day tour starts and ends in Calgary, Alberta. It covers about 1500 km and shows you all the beauty of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. This tour is trying to stay away from the tourist masses. Untouched nature and great insider tips are waiting for you. Highlight of this tour is the famous "Berg Lake Trail" in Mt Robson.

Day 1 Calgary

Your journey begins in Calgary, the oil metropolis of Alberta and host of the famous Stampede, the greatest Canadian Rodeo show. Take some time to experience the beginnings of the history of the Canadian Railway in the Calgary Heritage Park or in the Glenbow Museum.

Day 2 Canmore (Calgary - Canmore: approx.110 km)

From Calgary it goes west towards the Canadian Rocky Mountains, past the Olympic Park (venue of the Olympic Winter Games 1988) from where you can see the Rockies the first time. After a short drive you reach Canmore, shortly before Banff and have even enough time to explore magnificent mountain lakes like the Lake Minnewanka or simply enjoy the sunset

Day 3 Canmore

Today you spend the day in the till now poorly developed Kananaskis Country –still free from tourist masses like in Banff and Jasper. Midst these magnificent mountains numerous films were shot like e.g. Brokeback Mountain. Wonderful hikes in the midst of untouched nature are waiting for you. The return, off the Highway on a well maintained gravel road is almost a guarantor for unforgettable animal encounters

Day 4 Jasper (Canmore - Jasper: approx. 305 km)

From Canmore it goes via Lake Louise on the Icefield Parkway to Jasper. The Icefield Parkway is also known as the „dream road of the world“. The mountain route takes you on the ridge of the Rocky Mountains, past turquoise blue lakes and snowy glaciers as well as famous landmarks like the Columbia Icefield and the Athabasca Falls to Jasper, where your today’s stage ends.

Day 5 Mt Robson (Jasper- Mt Robson: approx. 90 km)

Today you explore the surrounding of Jasper and undertake hikes at the Whistlers Mountain, Maligne Lake or in the Maligne Canyon before you head again westwards to the highest mountain of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, the Mount Robson.

 Day 6 Mt Robson

During a day hike you take the legendary Berg Lake Trail up to the valley of the 1000 waterfalls. If you are fit enough you may continue your hike and admire some of the waterfalls close by. Alternatively, the environment of Mt Robson has a lot to offer, e.g. a rafting tour (o).

Day 7 Kamloops (Mt Robson - Kamloops: approx. 350 km)

Today’s stage leads you past ski resorts like Valmont and outdoor metropolises like  Clearwater and the Wells Gray Provincial Park to Kamloops, the supply center for the ranchers and farmers in in British Columbia.

Day 8 Revelstoke (Kamloops - Revelstoke: approx.210 km)Revelstoke

Today’s stage leads you along a varied seascape past Salmon Arm, the 3 Lakes and historic sites like „Last Spike“ to Revelstoke.  Revelstoke is the home of Mt. Revelstoke National Park. The National Park is known for its incredible variety of wild flowers in late summer.

Day 9 Golden (Revelstoke - Golden: approx.150 km)
